Superhero Psychology:
We often see Superman and Batman pitted against each other in comics. This battle of "god" vs. man is a common theme that has been going on since these two heroes' inception back in the 1930's. But why? Why do we feel the need to pit the most famous super-powered superhero against the most famous non-super-powered superhero, and what do you think this might say about human psychology? And, even though we all know that Batman would never really be able to win in a fight against a being as powerful as Superman, he always does! Why is that? It doesn't make any sense, and yet in every match-up between Superman and Batman we have ever seen, Batman always comes out on top. What do you think this says about us and our psychological and emotional needs as human beings? Why do we need to see a man without superpowers defeat a man with superpowers?
