Course Description: This class builds on what students learned in the Intro to Film class by having students put to use the knowledge they have gained in creating their own, unique, films. This is a projects-based course based on the popular Intro to Film courses at the Berkeley School of Film at the University of Berkeley in California where students are challenged to make complex films using basic technology readily available, such as iPhones.
This course will also continue the examination of film as a art form started in the Intro to Film class by looking closely at special effects, costuming, music and sound, as well as acting. The course will also include a genre study of famous and interesting films by renowned directors. The genre study will include musicals, cult classics, women in film, foreign film, the great epics, as well as the top 5 films on AFI's 100 Greatest Films list.

Number of Credits: 5
Prerequisites: Students must have completed their Freshman year, be passing their English courses, have taken and passed the Intro to Film course, and have a parent permission slip on file.
